Scott Evans

Scott founded the business in 2013 following 20 years in the investment banking industry.  His previous roles included Head of Equity Sales at ABN Amro, First Vice President of Research at Merrill Lynch and Head of Equity Research at Espirito Santo Investment Bank. Prior to working in finance, Scott worked as an academic economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and taught Economics at the University of Oxford. He studied Economics at Bristol University and Oriel College, Oxford. Scott is also the co-author of the Numis Smaller Companies Index which he undertakes as part of his research role at London Business School.

Gary Paterson

Prior to Scott Evans Associates Gary was a Director at HSBC responsible for managing client relationships, management of sales and sales traders in cash equities, equity derivatives and other equity products. This included research pricing in the run up to MiFID II. Previously he worked at RBS (ABN Amro) for 16 years, latterly as Chief Operating Officer for Global Cash Equities and Head of Client Account Management. Prior to investment banking Gary was an Enforcement Team Manager at the UK markets regulator. He studied Economics at Leeds University and is a Chartered Accountant.

Matt Fletcher

Matt has extensive experience of working within the asset management industry working as a buy-side analyst at Pioneer Investments, Eclectica Asset Management and as a portfolio manager at Legal & General. He has covered multiple equity markets and a wide range of sectors.  Prior to fund management Matt worked as a sell-side analyst at ABN Amro and Merrill Lynch covering European equities.  He is a regular commentator on financial markets and writes his own blog entitled The Thematic Investor. Matt is a graduate of St Andrews University.
